A Plethora of Acne Solutions

A Plethora of Acne Solutions

Acne is most common in young adults and pubescent teenagers.  While there is much controversy over exactly what causes acne there is no doubt about it that once you have it you want it GONE.  No one is comfortable walking around with blemishes on his or her face, let alone young adults who are at their most vulnerable when it comes to social acceptance.  Because of this and because finding just what the cause is, there are many acne solutions out there and finding one that works for you may take some experimentation.

Some acne treatments are topical.  There are cleansers, ointments, creams and astringents.  Sometimes blemishes are the result of clogged or dirty pores in the skin.  By using the appropriate combination of cleansers and antibacterial ointments any infections might be cleared up relatively easily.  Sometimes topical anti inflammatory ointments will also reduce the severity of the outbreak.  Products from companies like Proactiv have had a lot of good press in recent years.  Jessica Simpson has been seen promoting the product on national television.  Now we all know she was a paid spokesperson, but her teenage acnes was well documented and her apparent cure was evidenced in her current photographs.  She maintains that Proactive acne solutions helped her get rid of those ugly blemishes.  Acne scar solutions were also said to eliminate or reduce the facial scaring from advanced acne outbreaks.

Most health food stores will carry a line of natural acne solutions.  They will also offer books and pamphlets that detail acne home remedies.  Such stores will carry products to enable you to make your own homemade acne solutions.  Stores like GNC are among the most popular proponents of treating acne with natural acne solutions.  There are also many herbal apothecaries who have resources and acne tips that you could investigate if you are seeking to treat your acne holistically.

Dermatologists are not cheap, nor are the prescriptions they write.  Often times acne solutions are a matter of trial and error.  Remember, every visit to the doctor costs money and if you need several visits that can add up.  I am not advocating you forego doctors altogether, rather it might be wise to try some over the counter or holistic topical acne solutions first.  If they don’t work and you need to see a doctor then you will not have lost much and you can also inform him of what you have unsuccessfully tried.  Just be aware of the fact that not all acne solutions work for everyone.  What works for your bff may not be effective for you.  Know that there are a multitude of products out there and it’s just a matter of finding what works for you.
